Like the plot of a novel, senior members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Untied States Military came up with a plan to influence American public opinion. If placed into operation, Operation Northwood would have been the perfect vehicle for getting America to enter into wars whenever it suited those in power. Operation Northwood called for the shooting down of our own aircraft, launching terrorist attacks against out own cities and killing innocent civilians all in the name of making the world a better place to live. Though the formalization of this dastardly plan came only in 1962, it now appears that such a program has been in place in this country since before the start of the American Revolution.
